Shirley Cheng

Shirley Cheng previously trained at the Academy of Chinese Performing Arts, Western Ballet, and the Ramon Moreno School of Ballet. She joined American Repertory Ballet as a trainee, performing in The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Raymonda. Shirley holds a B.A. in International Relations and a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Statistics. During her time at Stanford, she performed principal roles with Cardinal Ballet Company and also appeared as a guest artist with San Jose Dance Theatre. Shirley now serves as the Assistant Director and founding choreographer of Bay Area Independent Chinese Dancers.
